Drought, bushfires and now Coronavirus -the impact on tourism is devastating, particularly in those regional communities hit hardest by the fires that have ravaged the countryside.
Australian Chamber Tourism invites local government, local and regional tourism bodies, local chambers of commerce, government authorities and ACCI’s own member associations, chambers and business leaders to this Summit to discuss:
-Ideas and initiatives already commenced that could or are helping to rebuild regions affected by bushfires
-How best to support the development of regional product and experiences that will draw tourists back to the regions
-Rebuilding and improving access to infrastructure, including digital infrastructure, that will facilitate regional tourism
-Action and assistance already taken by Government in response to the bushfires and ideas on what else could be done.
-There will also be time allocated in the Summit to deal with the more recent significant impact of the Novel Coronavirus
Attendees will be joined by senior representatives from Austrade and Tourism Australia. But this meeting is all about hearing from you –what has been the impact, what steps should be taken to help your region recover. What messages should we send to Federal and State Governments about what is needed?
SISTA SING is Wauchope Arts' main fundraiser for 2020.
It is held each year to coincide with International Women's Day, and features the amazingly diverse musical talent of our own local women.
The performers have been asked to select music which honours this year's theme, 'The Environment', and everyone (men and women) are invited to come along, enjoy the amazing music and to support Wauchope Community Arts Council's efforts to bring music and more to our local area.
Join in an optional shared meal; bring a plate to share from 6.30pm; music from 7.30pm.
Cold beer, wine, tea, coffee and choc tops will be available to purchase. No BYOG please.
Make sure you bring plenty of cash for the donation bucket.
We are also celebrating the 40th birthday of the magnificent Kawai grand piano, which was gifted to Wauchope Community Arts Council, and is much-loved and appreciated.
For more information on the night including program details go to our Wauchope Arts Facebook page.
