Wauchope Heritage River Walk

The Wauchope Heritage River Walk Project encompasses a range of informational and artistic elements to be installed along the Wauchope riverbank. The project will inspire and educate people on the history of the area and includes both Aboriginal and European historical elements.

The Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc in conjunction with the Wauchope and District Historical Society Inc are facilitating the project in consultation with other stakeholders including, Bunyah Local Aboriginal Land Council and Port Macquarie -Hastings Council. This project was made possible through funding from the Heritage Near Me Program. It is anticipated the project will be completed by late 2019.

Artist Briefing

Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc in partnership with the Wauchope and District Historical Society Inc, are seeking expressions of interest from two (2) local artists to submit conceptual designs|artwork for the Riverwalk Project.

The Project | Wauchope Heritage River Walk

The Wauchope Heritage River Walk Project encompasses a range of informational and artistic elements to be installed along the Wauchope riverbank. The project will inspire and educate people on the history of the area and includes both Aboriginal and European historical elements.

The Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc in conjunction with the Wauchope and District Historical Society Inc are facilitating the project in consultation with other stakeholders including, Bunyah Local Aboriginal Land Council and Port Macquarie -Hastings Council. The Artists

The project requires two (2) local Artists:

  • 1 (one) Aboriginal Artist and 1 (one) non Aboriginal Artist to create two (2) individual contemporary pieces of artwork symbolising Reconciliation.
  • Both Artists must reside within the Hastings LGA.

The Conceptual Artwork

At this stage, only conceptual drawings | images are required, although completed works will also be accepted.

  • Orientation - landscape
  • Design - symbolising Reconciliation
  • Style - contemporary
  • Artist statement to accompany designs
  • Artists can submit up to two (2) conceptual designs | artworks

Artwork Location

The artwork designs will feature as digital panel works on the River Street Weather Station Wauchope, as part of the Riverwalk Project.
